My name is James Marsh, and I'm addicted to photography...
I took up serious photography around december '08 when I got a Sony Alpha 350 DSLR, and then a suprise gift of Panasonic FX10 compact for Christmas shortly after! I wasnt sure if the 'big camera' was right for me or if it would just be a novelty quickly forgotten about.
As it turns out the DSLR was ideal, and I've been happily snapping everything I can find ever since - I dont quite know how to express it, but its like photography appeals to the geek/nerd in me on the technical side, and also to the artist in me on the creative side.
Why am I here? Mainly because I want to share some of the photo's I take - primarily with family & friends who do not live locally anymore, and also to the wider deviant art community.
I am trying to better myself as an artist - so if you have ideas/suggestions please comment either on the work your referring to or the main profile(if critising, please add reasons or guidance on how to do better, I have no respect for comments along the lines of 'that sucks' with no other information).
Everything in my gallery as a photo is available as a print(not self portraits
), but none of them are available as full size downloads - I felt this was preferable to large signatures or watermarks on full size pictures/downloads.

I'm still alive and kicking - but alots been going on, the short of it is I've been looking for some ways to make a bit of cash seeings as the jobs market is pretty crap atm. I may have found a way although probably not what any of you think, I am quite good at manual skills and crafts I've been working with metals for some years now for other hobbies(like RC car parts etc)...a few months ago my stemother surprised me with a book called "Contemporary Copper Jewelry: Step-by-Step Techniques and Projects": which in short is how to make jewellery out of copper wires and some semi precious gemstones/beads.
I not only found this strangely satisfy

Merry Christmas one and all!
Hope everyone has a good Christmas, and gets lots of awesome gifts - I'm not really expecting anythign major for my photography but I havent yet opened any gifts so who knows :lol:
I'm also saying Happy New Year now as I know I've been a bit lax updating my page here so I kinda hedging my bets lol.
I return all Llama's, and will try to thank people for :+fav: 's and :+devwatch: 's where possible - it can be tricky to strike a balance between friendly thanks and spamming thank you's but I try my best. Also if you submit anything to the group 'give a llama get a llama' (see icon below) I will give you a llama.

New PC hardware, T-shirts and more...

I know I've not been so active lately, partly real life getting in the way partly PC outtages - long story short I got some new PC hardware and am now on windows 7! :dummy:
I'm still taking pictures, and editing them but havent uploaded here for a while - nothing personal but I've been highly critical of my own work and dont really want to submit 'bad' pics. Anything worth submitting will be.
